Workout 1: "CLIMBING TO THE TOP"

RISE AND SHINE!! Your first workout of The Bertinator's 31 Days is HERE!! Don't let this "little" workout fool you. It will have you sweating and burning it up in no time.

This workout is done in pyramid style. Which means you go up and come down. Each exercise has a link attached to it, that will take you directly to my "Bertinator Breakdown" demonstrating the exercise. There is a modification shown for EVERYONE. From my grandma, the fittest of the fit, and 9 month pregnant women. No excuses! Just click on the name of the exercise and get it done. If you know what the exercise is, then feel free to just get going.

This workout is being done for time. Which means, you will set a timer and complete the whole workout and then once you are done press stop and then for an entry into the prize jar- comment below and let me know your time:)

You will always want to start with a light 5 min. warm up with some form of cardio. Jogging, jumping jacks, jump rope, etc... and then end with a nice 5 min. cool down (walking, marching in place) and a good stretch afterwards. However- you will not include either the warm up or the cool down in your "timed" portion. Start the timer AFTER the warm up and stop is BEFORE the cool down.

"CLIMBING TO THE TOP"

Run/Jog for 5 min.
50 Tuck Ins
40 Squat Kicks
30 Tricep Extensions
20 Mountain Climbers
10 Burpees
Time to BURN IT UP!!

(don't forget to record your time, and comment) Could take you anywhere between 10-30 minutes.

  1. Well, I was too embarrassed to time myself because I thought I was going to die after the first set of burpees. But I did it! Now I wish I paid attention to the time so that I could compare my times 31 days from now!

  2. You're right, it's harder than it looks! I also thought I was going to die. It took me 17 minutes, but it's hard to keep track of how many tuck ins I'm doing and yell at my kids at the same time. (Joking...sort of!)

  3. Done with a time of 15:37.9. The hardest exercise for me were the Tuck Ins. The first time I did it the normal way but after the 5 min run I did it with my hands on the ground. Also I used a 15 lb weight for the Tricep Extensions and I felt the burn but next time I'll probably have to use something a little heavier to get a bigger burn:) -Rebekah

  10. Ok so I started one day late so I guess I will have to double up at some point... CanI just say the first workout was EXACTLY what I needed to pull me out of my China funk! Thank you Bertie! Anyway although it was hell to start I did somehow finish every bit of it. (YAY ME) Ok so I finished in 22:28 not including warm-up and cool down which I thought wasn't that bad. I had to get very creative with my tricep weights but was able to perservere. Can't wait to do work out numero dos!

  13. This makes me laugh after reading everyone else's times! I did it in 28:27. Exercise Induced Asthma kicks my trash. Took a couple minutes to help my almost-3-yr-old try a couple exercises, too, though. I am sweaty and feel great! Looking forward to tomorrow!
